Wes Wyatt was born and raised in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Wes graduated from Hillcrest high school and attended Shelton State. After leaving Shelton he transferred to Mississippi State University where he received his degree in Broadcast Meteorology. While in college, Wes served as president of the East Mississippi chapter of the National Weather Association. As president, he received the NWA member of the year award for 2000-2001. His broadcasting career started at WJRD in Tuscaloosa Where he served as weekend weather anchor. At WJRD, he received an award for "Best Spot News Story" for coverage of the deadly December tornado of 2000. He later joined WTOK-TV, channel 11 in Meridian, and served as Chief Meteorologist for two years. His biggest news story was a two part series on the "1992 Lauderdale County Tornado." Wes has now come home to Tuscaloosa and he serves as your local Meteorologist at five, six, and ten Sunday through Thursday. Wes is a full member of the National Weather Association and he currently holds the American Meteorological Societies Seal of Approval. As for hobbies, when he's not busy, he enjoys jogging, Alabama football, playing guitar, hunting, and fishing.Email Wes
